Clam chowder and Fisherman's Wharf are a match made in heaven. Relish the waterfront atmosphere at the San Francisco Wharf Fest and Chowder Competition, a lively day of food, music, and fun. Head to the iconic neighborhood and enjoy the crisp fall weather at this inviting street fair, which also features 50+ art vendors and beverage sampling. Try out free activities, including a Segway obstacle course and rock climbing walls. The highlight of the day is the Chowder Competition, which pits nine different Fisherman's Wharf restaurants against each other in a battle for supreme glory. Taste all the chowders, and then vote for your favorite one and crown the best chef king.
Wharf Fest takes place at the intersection of Jefferson and Taylor streets (at the Fisherman's Wharf crab wheel sign), and on two blocks of Little Embarcadero street, between Taylor street and Powell street. Activities are free, however the Chowder Competition tickets cost $15 and are available in advance online. It all goes down on Saturday, October 22 from 11:30 am to 5 pm.
