New Year's Eve 2012 - Fireworks Over San Francisco Bay

Every New Year's Eve, 200,000 revelers huddle together on the waterfront to kiss the last year goodbye, and ring in the next with a free 15-minute barrage of fireworks over the San Francisco Bay at the stroke of midnight. The same artists who designed the Golden Gate Bridge's 75th Anniversary Show are orchestrating the event, so it's guaranteed to be a blast - literally! There's even going to be synchronized music playing from speakers positioned along the promenade from Pier 14 to the Bay Bridge, making the night a delight for all the senses.

Where's the Best Place to View of the Fireworks?

Because the show is in the sky, launched from barges 1,000 feet into the Bay, there aren't many bad spots to watch, except right in front of the Ferry Building near Pier 14. The best place to be is south of Sinbad's Restaurant, up and down Embarcadero, between Mission Street and Folsom. Be sure you arrive no later than 11:30pm to secure the best spot available to farewell 2012 and welcome 2013 in style!
