Since its inception in 2000, the Guinness Oyster & Music Festival has been merging the best of both worlds: live music and mouth-watering oysters. More than 300,000 attendees flock to the West Coast every year for a day of fun in the sun.
Enjoy the largest oyster festival across the U.S. Saturday, June 1st, from 11am to 6pm, at Sharon Meadow in Golden Gate Park, with a variety of oyster farms from across the coast, including the award-winning Drakes Bay Oyster Company. This family-owned and -operated company is the festival’s primary supplier, and it’s no wonder. They pride themselves on their commitment to using only the highest-quality products around.
Between the Guinness stout and plethora of musical acts, you’ll be set to kick off summer in no time. This year’s line-up includes talent spanning five generations of music. “Whip It” with Devo, let Family of the Year be your “Hero,” or enjoy the likes of Shiny Toy Guns and Grammy-nominee,Mutemath.
This San Franciscan oyster festival even features a wide range of bay area restaurants, though the oysters are still king here. Savor cold lager ales, stouts, or black lager until your heart’s content. Just don’t forget to visit the oyster competitions, cooking demonstrations, and expos.
