Clean The World and Greystone Hotels
Clean the World is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to reduce the waste created by discarded soap and shampoo products and reduce preventable illnesses with supplies such as shampoo and soap. The program partners with hotels, such as the King George, to collect shampoos, soaps and other bath amenities that are typically thrown away. Volunteers of the organization sort and process the hygiene products and distribute them among local homeless shelters and other countries in need. In only four years, Clean the World program has collected, recycled and donated over 12 million bars of soap in the US, Canada and over 67 impoverished countries.
The King George, part of the Greystone Hotels collection, is a supporter of Clean the World and a member of California Green Lodging Association. On Earth Day, our “green” hotel will donate a part of room revenues to the Clean the World, an organization that collects wasted soaps to create products that help prevent illness across the globe. The King George is an eco-friendly hotel with recycling and energy efficiency programs.
