San Francisco theatrical productions take place in small
venues throughout the city, but the major theaters are the Curran, the Golden
Gate, and the Orpheum are where you will find Broadway productions and special
engagements. The 2012 fall and winter line up is sure to be an exciting one.
For one night on October 15, David Byrne & St. Vincent will play a concert
at the Orpheum Theatre. The Orpheum is at 1192 Market Street at 8th
Street. The Lion King is a popular
musical the whole family can enjoy. It plays at the Orpheum Theatre from
November 1, 2012 through January 13, 2013. At the Curran Theatre, located at
445 Geary Street between Taylor and Mason streets, the Broadway darling The Book of Mormon, declared “the best
musical of the century” by The New York
Times, runs from November 27 through December 30. In January 2013, the
musical Wicked will be back at The
Orpheum Theatre, and the revival of Anything Goes will play at the Golden Gate
Theatre, which is at 1 Taylor Street, at 6th and Market streets.
Enjoy!
