The Chinese New Year Parade & Festival in San Francisco
Celebrate the Chinese New Year in San Francisco
Saturday, March 7, 2015

Kick off the Chinese New Year at San Francisco's premier parade and festival event on March 7th. A tradition more than 150 years in the making, the cultural event attracts locals and visitors alike. As the largest Asian-culture celebration outside Asia, you'll encounter an eclectic mix of whimsical floats, marching bands, dazzling fireworks dragons and dancers. Make your way to the Chinatown neighborhood, where you'll be immersed in authentic eats and exotic entertainment. Be sure to check out all the specialty shops in Chinatown while you're here to take home some unique goodies and souvenirs.

Since the parade marches through Union Square, you'll have prime access to this signature event from our hotel. Book your stay soon, since visitors come from all over to take part in this deeply rooted historic tradition. And, since you can leave your car at our hotel and find the festivities by foot, you'll avoid the hassle of the hard-to-find parking. Once you find a prime spot along the parade line, cheer as more than 100 units amble along the route.

Take the kids so they can see the spectacular costumes and electrifying entertainment. Or plan a magical evening for two with someone special in the transformed streets of San Francisco. In addition to the parade, the Chinese New Year Festival also includes the Flower Market Fair, Chinatown YMCA Run, the crowning of Miss Chinatown, and a Basketball Jamboree.
