For three days this August, Golden Gate Park transforms into a musical wonderland where the biggest acts from around the globe come to play live. Along with today's hottest artists playing to thousands of fans, there will be hilarious comedians, tasty food from the Bay Area's best restaurants, and plenty of local wines and microbrews to taste. This is the ultimate summer party, and it all takes place in the lush landscape of the city's most famous park.
This year's headliners include the legendary Elton John and British folk-rock heroes Mumford & Sons. But that's only the beginning of an incredible lineup that brings a huge selection of talent to the stage each day. From the soulful sounds of D'Angelo and the bluesy tunes of The Black Keys to the beautiful voice of Sam Smith and the electronic beats of Hot Chip, this concert has something for every musical taste. Other artists schedule to appear include Wilco, Kendrick Lamar, St. Vincent, Billy Idol, and Caribou among dozens more.
Music is not the only thing on the menu during the festival. You can also expect some of the country's funniest comedians to bring the laughs and an art show featuring some of the city's most creative talents. Attendees can fuel up on some of the best tastes from the Bay Area. Several food trucks and carts will be on hand from Mexican to Vietnamese fare, and many of the city's finest restaurants will be preparing special meals just for the festival.
