Celebrate the New Year, San Francisco Style!

If watching fireworks over the Bay is too low-key of a way to celebrate New Year's Eve, there are countless other options for you and yours to ring in the New Year. From starry cruises, to masquerade balls and "Beach Blanket" New Year's Eve parties, San Francisco is a dream come true for revelers of every fancy. Just be sure to plan your night accordingly, be safe, and use public transit whenever possible.

Where Are Some of the Best Parties?

Sail into the New Year on a California Twilight Cruise with Red and White Fleet. Start the night out right on a two-hour cruise from Pier 43 ½ as you watch the final sunset of 2012 burn into the Pacific Ocean, complete with live music, drinks, and appetizers. Then, either join Club Fugazi's "Beach Blanket Babylon" party in North Beach, full of champagne, truffles, and tons of laughs, or saunter over to Davies Symphony Hall for the annual New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball, where Michael Francis leads the orchestra, accompanied by soprano songstress, Susanna Phillips. It's a night of scintillating mystery, great music, and more. But remember, all guests must be masked!
