Take part in a one-of-a-kind holiday celebration, inspired by Charles Dickens' creative fiction and real-world Victorian London. Blending both historical and literary charm, the Great Dickens Christmas Fair & Victorian Holiday Party invites guests for a special journey back in time. Spend an evening rubbing elbows with classic characters in costume. You'll feel like you've actually stepped inside the pages of "A Christmas Carol" as you encounter Scrooge, along with his infamous ghosts of past, present, and future.
 
In his novel Dickens declares, "There is nothing in the world so irresistibly contagious as laughter and good humor."
This describes the scene of merry-making and camaraderie during these five weekends. The Cow Palace Exhibition Halls are dramatically transformed into an elaborate town with lamp-lit lanes, pubs, theaters, music halls and dance floors.
 
You can experience everything as it was in the Victorian ages, and even cross some names off your Christmas shopping list. Onsite, you'll find all sorts of treasures to take home. Check out the unique handcrafted jewelry, creatively crafted masks, hand-carved candles, antique books, period photography, and personalized Christmas ornaments. Find the perfect gifts for everyone, along with creative stocking stuffers like puppets, candies, scents, soaps and magic wands.
 
You can feast on delicious foods from the British Empire, and try your own hand at crafts and games. Find a full lineup of musical performances and lively entertainment at the Victoria & Albert Bijou Music Hall, Father Christmas Stage, Mad Sal's Dockside Ale House, and the Dickens Family Parlour. You'll make your way through old-world London town brimming with the spirit and celebration of the season.
