Viva la Fiesta! Cinco de May in the City by the Bay

Celebrating its 11th year, the Mission Neighborhood Center's annual Cinco de Mayo celebration is a fiesta you and the family don't want to miss. This alcohol-free event will be hosted within San Francisco Mission District's most popular street - Valencia Street - between 21st and 24th. The celebrations begin early on Saturday May 2, 2015 with performances from Ensambles Ballet Folklorico de San Francisco, Berta Olivia and the Mariachi Mexicanismo, and so many more. Sing and dance along to the traditional Latin music from the old days with the 21st Street "Community Entertainment Center" - where Latin jazz and beats will be performed throughout the day by some of the neighborhoods oldest residents. Experience the Latin flavors and history of Mexican and Spanish cultures in the cuisine available for purchase during Saturday's event. More than 50 vendors will be serving their own take on traditional delicacies, and if you know anything about San Francisco and its food - you know it's going to be good. As a family friendly event, this year's awareness is centered around the idea of supporting and improving community life through active participation in local events. In partnership with Mission Neighborhood Centers, San Francisco First 5/Preschool for All, Monterrey Bay Aquarium, the American Red Cross, and the SF Health Plan are also event sponsors. Of course, the kids have a big part in the fun too. The Kid's Zone has all the activities to keep the little ones occupied all day long. Let them experience new shapes, textures and smells for the first time at the petting zoo, provided by the Community Music School faculty, as well as the hands-on musical center where guitars, violins, cellos and more will all be available to play around on. Don't miss this cultural celebration in SF!
