2014 Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival
San Francisco’s JapantownSaturday and Sunday, April 12-13 and April 19-20, 2014 Now celebrating its 47th year, the Northern California Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the most prominent Asian traditions celebrations in California. Every year, more than 200,000 people gather at this amazing display spotlighting the grace and colors of the Japanese culture and the diverse Japanese American Community. The 2014 festival will be held over two weekends, April 12 & 13 and April 19 & 20 in the heart of San Francisco’s Japantown - one of three remaining Japantown communities in the United States. The festival will include tons of mouthwatering food, cultural performances, live music, martial arts demonstration, and the annual Queen Program. The parade will begin at City Hall on April 20 and end in Japantown. This event is the second largest Cherry Blossom Festival outside of Washington, DC. The festival is open to the public and admission is free.
