Beer lovers gather in San Francisco at Fort Mason every January to start the New Year right with an amazing festival that brings the city’s and world’s best brewers together for tastings of unlimited microbrews, local food trucks, and fun. The Bay Area Brew Fest has quickly turned into one of the hottest events of the winter, and the 3rd annual shindig promises to be better than ever.
With dozens of international and domestic brews on tap to taste, you can spend the afternoon traveling around the world of beers. Many of the California’s iconic and up-and-coming breweries will also be on hand like Lagunitas, Sierra Nevada, Mendocino Brewing Company, Karl Strauss, and San Francisco’s own Anchor Steam. Global brands include Guinness, Radeger, and Samuel Adams. There will even be several ciders represented for a sip of something different. When you get hungry, San Francisco’s best food trucks will be on hand to help you fill up before going back for another round of brews.
General admission is only $40 and give you access from 2-5pm and unlimited tastings at all of the breweries. If you want to upgrade your experience, you can splurge on a VIP ticket for an extra ten dollars ($50) that allows you an extra hour of tastings before the general admission crowds get access starting at 1pm. It is well worth it to make sure you hit up all of the beers on your list. This unforgettable beer event takes place at beautiful Fort Mason in a perfect location to capture the magic of San Francisco.
