For those in the micro- and nano-electronics industries, SEMICON West is peerless when it comes to tradeshows. The 44th Annual SEMICON West takes place July 8th through 10th at the Moscone Center in San Fancisco. New ideas, technologies, and devices are unveiled and discovered there; it is a showcase for emerging markets and technologies born from those aforementioned industries. SEMICON specifically serves semiconductor technologies, photovoltaic/solar technologies, micro-electromechanical system technologies, LED technologies, and printed/flexible electronic technologies; however, a wide array of related micro-electronics will be represented. Some of the participating companies and exhibitors in 2014 include KLA Tencor, Lam Research, Applied Materials, AM Technical Solutions, and a host of other big and innovative names. This year’s SEMICON West presents also presents a number of issues and talking points pertinent to the micro-electronics industry&-notably, that of sustainability and the semiconductor industry. The new Sustainable Manufacturing Forum is designed to tackle and air out issues and challenges facing companies and technologies in the coming years. A focus on sustainable and ecologically-friendly methods will be of particular interest and dialogue. SEMICON West connects people, products, ideas, and technologies, and is one of best venues in the world that does so.
